Privacy policy

This is an English translation of our Danish privacy policy.
Here you can read what information MyJobseeker stores about you, why we do it, how long we keep it, and what you can decide.
Who is responsible
MyJobseeker is operated by MyAvatar ApS, which is the data controller for the information the service processes.

What information we store
Your account
Your name and your email address. We do not store your password — we only store a calculated code that cannot be turned back into the password. We also store when the account was created, when you last logged in, and when your logins expire.
Your applications
What you enter yourself: company, position, location, link to the job posting, date, status and your notes.
Please note that the notes are your own free-text fields. If you write the names or contact details of other people — for example a contact person at a company — we store those too. Consider what you need to write down.
Your CV
If you upload your CV, we store both the text itself and the information our AI reads from it: name, title, experience, education and skills. We also store your answers to the coaching questions.
A CV is one of the most personal things you have. Without you thinking about it, it can contain information about health, trade union membership, religion or ethnic origin — for example through a gap in the CV or a position of trust. We do not ask for that kind of information, but we receive what you upload yourself. Consider what is in the file you send.
Your login to job portals
If you choose to save your login to Jobindex, LinkedIn, Indeed or Jobnet, we store the username, a link to your profile if any, and the password in encrypted form.
Please note the difference: your password to MyJobseeker is stored in a way where it cannot be read back — not even by us. Your passwords to the job portals are stored encrypted, and that encryption can be reversed by whoever has access to our server. That is less secure. You do not need to save them to use the rest of the site.
Technical information
Our web server automatically records your IP address, the time, which page you requested, and which browser you use. We use this for operations and security. These log files are not linked to your account, and they are deleted after 14 days.
Your documents
If you upload diplomas, course certificates or references, we store the files themselves in our own database — not in a folder at a third party. We do not read them, and they are not sent to any AI model, unless you switch this on yourself for the individual document. It is switched off from the start, and you can switch it off again.
Your work and your videos
If you upload work samples — a video, a file, a link — we store the title, where it was made, your own description of your role and the skills you connect to it.
A video of you is not a file like any other. It shows your age, your gender, your skin colour, your accent and possibly a disability, whatever the video is about. Therefore: we do not analyse your videos. They are not sent to any AI model, they are not used to assess you, and they are only shown to the people you give access yourself.
The video file itself is stored with Bunny.net (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia) in our own video library. That is inside the EU. We only store the information about which video belongs to your account. If you delete a video, we also delete it there.
If you connect your own mailbox
If you want to send messages to companies, you can connect your own email account — for example Gmail. They are then sent from your address, not from ours. The recipient gets a real sender to reply to, and the email is in your own "Sent" folder.
We only ask for permission to send. The access you give is
called gmail.send at Google, and it can do one thing: send an
email. It cannot read your inbox, cannot see your drafts and
cannot touch anything already there. We do not ask for more, and we cannot get
more without asking you again.
- We store a key that lets us send from your account. It is encrypted, and it is only used for the emails you have queued yourself.
- You choose whether we may send follow-ups for you. If you switch it on, we send at the times you have approved, also when you are not logged in. If you switch it off, we tell you, and you press send yourself.
- Everything is queued before it is sent. You can see exactly what is on its way out in your name, and stop it.
- At most 25 emails per day are sent from your account. This protects your own reputation as a sender.
- If you disconnect the mailbox, everything in the queue stops, the key is deleted on our side, and the access is revoked at Google. You can also remove it yourself under the security settings of your Google account.
Information we receive from your Google account is used solely to provide the feature you have asked for. It is not passed on to others, not used for marketing, not used to train AI models, and not included in anything you have not started yourself.
MyJobseeker's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (opens in a new window), including the Limited Use requirements. It is the same promise as above, in Google's own words, so that it can be verified.
When you share something with an employer
You can create a link that shows selected work samples. The following applies:
- You choose what is included yourself — one item at a time.
- The link expires automatically, after 90 days at the latest.
- You can close it at any time, and then it stops working immediately.
- Anyone with the link can see the content while it is valid. Only share it with the people it is meant for.
- The page may not be indexed by search engines.
- We count how many times the link has been opened, so you can see it. We do not record who opened it.
We do not assess you towards the employer. There is no score and no match percentage on the page they see — only what you have chosen to show, in your own words, and a note that we have not confirmed it with anyone.
Why we store it
- To provide the service. Without an account and applications there is no service. The legal basis is that we perform the agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
- To operate and secure the site. Log files and backups are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service running and detecting misuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
- Account and applications: until you delete them yourself. If you delete your account, everything disappears immediately.
- CV and profile: until you delete them — but we ask you every 6 months whether we may still keep them. If you do not answer, you will keep being asked. We do not keep people's CVs indefinitely without asking.
- The help conversation: 30 days. You can clear it yourself at any time.
- Log files: 14 days.
- Backups: 14 days.
This also means something you should know: if you delete your account, your information may still be in a backup for up to 14 days. The backups are used solely to restore data if the server fails, and they are deleted automatically after that.
Who has access
We do not sell, rent out or pass on your information.
The server is located with Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. They are our data processor and host the equipment, but do not use your information for anything themselves. All your information stays inside the EU — we do not transfer anything to countries outside the EU or EEA.
When we send you an email — for example a link to choose a new password — it is sent through Simply.com, which provides our email. They are Danish, and they handle the sending on our behalf.
If you upload a video, the file itself is stored with BunnyWay d.o.o. (Bunny.net) in Slovenia, which provides video storage and playback on our behalf. That is inside the EU/EEA.

Two things leave the EU: your CV and what you write to the helper
If you use the jobseeker feature, the text of your CV is sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model that reads it and writes the texts. Anthropic is an American company. They process the CV on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. The same applies if you import your experience from a LinkedIn PDF.
The same applies to the helper. If you write a question in the help panel, the question and the latest messages in the conversation are sent the same way. These are the only two kinds of processing where your information leaves the EU.
The helper is also told how many applications you have, and what types of document you have uploaded — so it can answer that your journeyman's certificate is missing. The content of your CV, your documents and your messages is not sent.
If you ask about unemployment benefits, availability for work or other benefits, the question is rejected before it is sent. It never leaves the house. We do not answer that kind of question, because a wrong answer can cost you money — it is decided by your unemployment insurance fund and your job centre.
If you would rather avoid it, you can use the rest of MyJobseeker — account, application overview, document archive, work samples and portal shortcuts — without uploading your CV. If you have already uploaded it, you can delete it again under Jobseeker.
Your documents and your videos are not included. They are not sent to Anthropic. A document can only be read if you switch this on yourself for that specific document, and videos are never sent — not even if you switch something else on.
We use no analytics tools, no advertising tools and no scripts from other companies.
Cookies
MyJobseeker sets one cookie. It keeps track of the fact that you are logged in, and without it the site cannot work. It contains no information about you — only a random key — and it disappears when you log out.
We do not use cookies for statistics, tracking or marketing. That is why we do not ask for your consent to cookies.
Your rights
You can always:
- See what we have about you. Download a file with everything on the My account page.
- Correct what is wrong. You correct your name and email yourself in the same place.
- Have it deleted. You can delete your account and all content yourself.
- Delete only your CV. If you want to keep your account but get rid of your CV, your profile and your saved portal logins, you do it under Jobseeker. It is final.
- Take your data with you. The file you download is in a format other systems can read.
You also have the right to object to the processing and to ask us to restrict it. Write to info@myjobseeker.dk, and we will get back to you.
How we protect the information
- All traffic to and from the site is encrypted.
- Passwords are never stored in readable form.
- The database can only be accessed from the server itself — not from outside.
- The system is built so that a user can only retrieve their own information, and this is tested automatically every time the code changes.
- Your account is locked temporarily if someone guesses your password wrong too many times.
If you are dissatisfied
Please write to us first, and we will try to solve it. You always have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, datatilsynet.dk (opens in a new window).
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If there are significant changes to what we do with your information, we will let you know.
